Compatible Equipment
You will need to acquire compatible equipment. Rather than reinvent everything, we have attempted to provide a variety of ways for our game to work with equipment you have, or can acquire at a reasonable cost.
Vibes
The following are directly compatible:- GoodVibes' Queen Bullet, King Bullet, or Ace Bullet (3 batteries, or ~4.5V nominal)—recently discontinued
- CalExotics Sterling Collection of vibes (4 batteries, or ~6V).
- CalExotics Dr. Laura Bergman Intimate Basics Vibrator
The game supports 2 vibes per player, two players at a time. Both players have consent handles, which will engage safety mode (and disable all vibes) at the click of a button.
Wands
We have a plugbox variant with two 120V switched outlets that are independently switched on and off by the game, and subject to their corresponding recipient consent switches. Power is generally switched for several seconds at a time; however, there is no game-controlled variation in speed, as there is with compatible vibrators.
Caveats:
- Starting can be stressful on motors. Personally, I wouldn't object to putting my modestly-priced massage wand on there, but if I had a $250 genuine Hitachi, I probably wouldn't. Use some judgement.
- This isn't going to work with rechargeable battery-powered wands. Turning power to the charger on and off isn't going to do anything with the motor.
- It's also not going to work with units that have electronic speed controls, which reset to "off" when power is removed.
TENS units
We support TENS units that respond to an audio signal, such as the EROSTEK MK-312B, via a TENSadapter box. Our tens adapter plugs into the game like a vibe, then provides a 1/8" audio jack with line-level output that you can connect to the TENS unit's audio in. Nervous technical people: yes, there's an audio isolation transformer in there.
ButtPlug.io Devices
We have put in a feature request to the Intiface software developer, asking to add a "subscribe" feature to that software rather than just accepting incoming connections. Intiface "proxies" for Bluetooth devices that use ButtPlug.io protocol, allowing control from the Internet. We conceive of providing a "game server" you could point Intiface at, and for the duration you've joined the game, you get commands from it.
This would solve our problem: adding a corresponding setup interface in the game would be awkward, and anything automatic would be a Rube-Goldberg nightmare of network monitoring. Better yet, we think if this feature existed, it would inspire a host of creative perversion.
I'm told the developer responded, "Wow, that's an interesting idea. Uh... Oh man, you could make like a silent disco, but with butt-plugs with that." Or something to that effect. Suffice it to say, he liked the idea, and immediately hit upon a new creative perversion for it.
So it's a yes on his end, but we don't know when it will be ready.
And when he's done, we still need to write the code on our end.
So, we do hope to support ButtPlug.io equipment in the future. Exactly when that support will be in place is unknown.
That all said, once we do, the game will support (conceptually) unlimited recipients. Any consent management/safety switches on these wireless remote devices, must be provided by that software for the devices managed by the software.
