From release 124 onwards, pianod includes the following files: * contrib/README.init * contrib/pianod.conf * contrib/pianod.raspbian.init The script expects pianod to be installed at /usr/sbin/pianod, but this can be changed in pianod.conf. Text of README.init copied below == init.d service scripts for pianod == The files pianod.raspbian.init and pianod.conf provide for running pianod as a service on Linux using the older init.d script system. This includes many Linux distributions, but they are not all cross-compatible. The init script provided was tested on Raspbian, the Debian-based distribution for RaspberryPi. It will probably work on other Debians. Essentially it depends on /lib/lsb/init-functions defining shell functions like log_daemon_msg. Additionally, the script depends on the helper program start-stop-daemon. If you are trying to set up pianod as a service on a systemd system (e.g. ArchLinuxARM), see README.service. == Installation == To add the service to your systemd Linux system, copy pianod.raspbian.init to /etc/init.d/pianod pianod.init expects to have some environment variables set for it so copy pianod.conf to /etc/pianod.conf You can edit pianod.conf to change the runtime options. You should then be able to control the pianod service using: /etc/init.d/pianod start /etc/init.d/pianod status /etc/init.d/pianod stop To set up the service to run at boot: update-rc.d pianod defaults To disable: update-rc.d pianod disable == Support == These files are provided as is. If you need support, you can try asking on the pianod mailing list: http://lists.deviousfish.com/listinfo.cgi/pianod-deviousfish.com For RaspberryPi support, you could also try the RaspberryPi forums: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/
