Hi Chris,

I’m looking into the mailing list search.

> I've got a Raspberry Pi 3 that I'm setting up as an on-board boat computer and media server. Typically when I go out I use my phone as a wifi hotspot for Internet. As such the network can come and go but what I'm seeing is that Pianod2 seems to hang on network loss and will not restart when the network returns. The only way to get piand running again is to totally kill it and restart. A HUP does nothing and it will not start when play is pushed or a different playlist is selected. I know the audio still works because I have another process that speaks speed and time to the same audio sink.

This is symptomatic of libav brokenness, indicating (unfortunately) that the troubles have made it to the Pi. libav changed their api, so it doesn't correctly handle connection timeouts. If you’re feeling motivated, you could compile and use ffmpeg, but it’ll fight with libav so it’s probably a lot of trouble.

gstreamer is in the works to drop libav support. That support will be coming soon, maybe a week or two.

Perette
