[Pianod] can piano (v1) still be made to work?

0.07!?  That version dates back to November/December 2012, with an old version with libpiano for an earlier/deceased protocol I think.  Download 175 or 176.

176 has a PolarSSL build option.

As far as version 2:

Sounds like a library is missing.
$ apt-cache search avutil
libavutil-dev - Development files for libavutil
libavutil54 - Libav utility library
