Okay, that's EAI_NONAME, which is what it does if the network stack is 
down.  But since yours is up I guess we need more debug info; can you 
add some lines to dump the values of the first two arguments to getaddrinfo?

Hopefully Perette will weigh in...  Have you tried just rebuilding from 
a fresh SVN pull?
